It’s Natural: Grow Your Writing Skills at May Arboretum
A Free 8-Session Writing Workshop Designed for Ages 55+
Celebrate Reno's Artown. What better way to focus on the essentials of engaging story telling – significant details, changes, and growth –- than in a garden? And the Wilbur May Arboretum is a Reno treasure. Join Nevada Arts Council Roster’s Literary Artist, Suzanne Morgan Williams, at the Ranch House in Rancho San Rafael Park for this eight-session, cumulative class. You’ll explore the Arboretum and access your experience and memories to create your unique stories whether fiction or non-fiction. You’ll participate interactive lessons, utilize the gardens for related activities, and have time to write. The last session will celebrate your accomplishments.
The class is designed for adults, 55 and older, at all levels – beginners to well-seasoned writers. It will meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:30 AM to noon July 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28 at the Ranch House in Racho San Rafael Park, 1595 N Sierra St, Reno, NV.
The activities will build your skills, encourage community, and just be fun. It’s sponsored by May Arboretum Society and this project is supported in part by the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. It is limited to 20 participants. Registration is open until class is full or July 14, whichever is first. For questions and/or to register, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
